Electric power quality parameters of power systems for selected rolling mill drives

Summary: The article presents the results of measurements and the analysis of electric energy parameters at industrial medium voltage switchgears supplying DC drives for rolling machines of steel and copper profiles. The values of power and power factor (PF) were calculated on the basis of computer-registered current and voltage waveforms for various drive operating states. DASYLab and MATLAB software were used to data recording and computing. Power quality parameters, such as THD factor for voltages and currents, harmonics spectra and voltage unbalance factor (VUF) were calculated and shown. Graphs of voltage, current, and power waveforms, THD U and harmonic spectra of voltages and currents as a function of load power are presented. The result of the analysis of measurements are conclusions and project applications.
