Summary: The need of transition of the Polish energy sector, resulting from global trends, inextricably intertwined with the need to rebuild Silesia subjectivity, meaning in today to build a new energy identity. This is possible by creating by Silesian conventional energy sector of repowering program of the 200 MW coal-fired units, and by the local authorities of metropolitan development strategy of prosumer energy. The foundation of the balance between the program and the strategy must be a new electricity market. Completely distributed, on which will come new forces, capable to exert pressure on the government, power sector and local governments. Forces such as: the SME sector, the society, including cooperatives and housing communities, also agriculture, industry. Finally, forces such as universities and technical associations, the SEP in the first place.
